Sir Patrick and friends I was updating the Ancients page ( www.thegusbus.com/minitures/ancients.htm) on my website this weekend. I have photos of all the figures for both my Athenian and Spartan armies up now (including my new cav), also a small sub-page on the game board I build, let me know what you think. I was also thinking that perhaps we should come up with a league name for our little group. I would like to put up a page discribing the efforts of you, Cliff, and I. Information about what armies we've painted, current projects, a link to the records page you've been updating, perhaps pictures of the members with their armies in front of them, etc. So any and all suggestions for the name of the league, or additions to that page would be great.

In a discussion last night between Carl, John and I, The Sacred Band of Thebes was suggested... and rejected...
How about "For Old Times Sake"? (FOTS)

Off the top of my head some of the names I thought of came from NU or other locational ties we shared in forming our little group:
"The Sons of Kemper" "Evanstonian League" "Legion of the Purple Banner"
that I can't think of better at the moment is why I'm in need of suggestions

Yeah, I like the idea of a name connecting us to NU...
I also like funny acronyms...
Hmmm...

I also like funny acronyms... How about: Leading All Peoples Down A New Course of Evolutionary Struggle(LAP DANCES) or maybe Sending All Commanders Ready to End Defeat Battling All Non-aligned Domains(SACRED BAND) ;D

This reminds me of the Pafrasian towns of Ba Room and Ta Vern.

No, no. You mispelled them
It's Bahrroum and Tahvaarn...

I figured I did. I don't think I saw the spelling beforehand.

I figured I did. I don't think I saw the spelling beforehand. Of course you didn't... unless you've seen a map of my imagination...

How about "Historical Union of Northwestern Students"
"HUNS"
or
"Militarily Oriented Northwestern Gaming Orginization of 'Lumni"
"MONGOLs"

I like the HUNS one. The full name fits. The MONGOLS one is too forced.

Of course you didn't... unless you've seen a map of my imagination... That tells me it's time for you to update your Pafraisian website so that we can all see it.

My only thing with the HUNS one is that it might exclude any new members that we might meet along with way.
I wonder if there is any way to passively reference the NU origin without making it seem like all the member were Northwestern students
Keep up the good work though, we shall have to consider HUNS a nomination.
