Heartbreaking conclusion to a great fight, poor Chouji
It appears DB is taking shots at ANBU again with the "how many weeks comment" and ANBU deserves it too
Damn, from the preview of next week, looks like my prediction was wrong
Neji vs. Spiderman rather then Kiba

Well the Spider guy did say he needed a break and wanted someone else to carry it, or something along those lines

Even though all indicators are there for this to have happened, I'm still sad to see it. Chouji was finally developing into a real character instead of a side-joke or running gag comperable to the Ino / Sakura bit. I understand that this is how the story has gone, but it feels like meeting someone or finally getting to know them just before they die.
On an up note, I seem to have built a reputation with my coworkers that has spread to some of the wives about being a big eater. If they knew of Naruto, they would be making Chouji references. The amusing part of it is that I am possibly one of the most fit of the group (a combination of being the youngest and the whole martial arts thing). Even more amusing, I think I'm loosing weight. It comes from the fact that food is available there, and so I have no problem with eating food that is readily available.

Wait, Chouji is dead?!?! Whoa... I don't think I got that far in the manga... not only are we coming up to the limit of what I read, but also since I only read it once, I can't remember alot of details...

Well, they could be pulling our chain again
Remember how Shino "died" after ingesting too much poison
However, with all the setup to this one it might be for real this time

Patrick, what the hell are you doing reading the thread without watching the eps first, for shame

Well, they could be pulling our chain again Remember how Shino "died" after ingesting too much poison However, with all the setup to this one it might be for real this time Yes, but he only meantioned taking in the poison and not feeling well and passing out, not something so clear that 'if I take this, I will die" and not with an episode title "farewell", and the last time such an episode title was used it was for Sarutobi (the 3rd). And patrick, that's why you don't read this before watching your episodes. It's not my fault if it's spoiled for you.

So the akimichi clan has some sort of butterfly avatar? Or do you think that's just chouji?
Those butterflies to me seemed to be formed out of chakra, similar to when the fox's chakra sometimes makes faces or tails around naruto. Given the power of his moves, it looks like he got instantaneous power of close to that magnitued, but it obviously cost him.
The other weird thing was how much his appearance seemed to change... there was one shot of his face where he looked like on of the guys from pokemon... did he burn up all of his fat stores because of taking that pill?

That's what I think. I think Chouji's clan has the ability to metabolize food and fat into chakra, and this pill heightens the process. He became not-fat because all of that energy stored up over years was turned into chakra and then used in the span of about 15 seconds.
I think the butterfly avatar is clan-wide. And you seem to know more about pokemon than I do.
